Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) is considering a move to engage para-policemen or ex-servicemen to pro-actively support policing in the area as a confidence building measure for investors.
The decision was announced by Surya Pratap Singh, principal secretary of Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department of Uttar Pradesh during an open house interaction with the entrepreneurs of the area.
‘There is a need to fill the gap between perception and reality and the state government is making sincere efforts in the direction,’ said Singh.
He directed the officers to facilitate investment along with resolving the problems of existing industries in the area. ‘Bringing in change in the perception of our industrial areas by setting right the flaws in realistic terms in a pre-requisite to attract investment,’ he added.
The entrepreneurs also raised the issue of power supply on which Singh assured them to resolve the issues with - Noida Power Distribution Company. Singh also assured full government support to industrialists for obtaining clearances. ‘This is not a one-time affair, more such meetings would be organised to review the situation,’ added Singh.
He directed the authority officers to plan the projects in such a way that growth gets a thrust without hassles. Singh also warned the officers about illegal and corrupt practices. ‘We want to change the culture, if any government employee seeks undue favours from entrepreneurs, strict action would be taken,’ he added. He also announced that GNIDA would buy its own busses to ply in Greater Noida to provide better public conveyance in the city.
