A CBI special court hearing the Babri Masjid demolition case wanted to visit the site on 15 November to collect evidences and inspect the spot, but the local administration on Wednesday denied it permission to go to the disputed site citing a Supreme Court order.
CBI special judge SM Tiwari along with a CBI team and counsel of the accused and prosecution wrote to Faizabad administration for the visit to the place where Babri Masjid existed before 6 December, 1992.
An order passed by the special judge on 20 October said, ‘The presiding officer including the lawyers of defence and prosecution will visit the site of Babri Masjid on 15 Nov.’
