Assembly speaker asks AAP MLAs to remove their caps

While AAP’s ministers took off their caps before entry into Assembly, some members of the party continued to wear their caps.

Opposition’s members such as Mohan Singh Bisht, Subhash Sachdeva and Kulwant Singh Rana raised objections about AAP legislators wearing their caps. Protem-speaker Mateen Ahmed said, ‘Caps will be not allowed, especially if they have slogans written on it’. Meanwhile some opposition members raised the issue that Aam Aadmi Party workers, present in visitor’s gallery, were wearing their caps and they must be asked remove them. However, the speaker said, ‘these rules did not apply to those present at the visitor’s gallery. There is no need remove them’.

The Assembly session took a communal colour, when Janata Dal ( United ) member Shoib Iqbal targeted the opposition on issues such as Ram Mandir , Kashmir referendum and Batla House’s encounters.

The situation turned ugly, when Iqbal took off his coat and tried to enter the well of the house for a physical confrontation. Speaker Mateen Ahmed called up the House Marshal to kick out from house. In fact opposition leader Dr Harsh Vardhan had earlier targeted chief minister Arvinder Kejriwal on the above issues.
