With a view to woo youths ahead of upcoming Delhi assembly elections, Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel on Sunday promised laptops on concessional rates, 15 more colleges in the city and more jobs for youths.
‘The BJP will provide laptops and educational books on concessional rates to the students. We will open 15 new colleges to provide more seats in different streams,’ Goel said while addressing a rally called Youth for Change 2013. BJP national president Rajnath Singh, who was also present at the rally, lambasted the Congress government for not generating sufficient job opportunites for youths.
The rally was organised by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of Delhi BJP at Talkatora Stadium. He also assured that evening classes in all colleges will be started if the BJP was voted to power.
Goel promised to set up a Youth Commission to formulate specific policies for the youth in the capital and to oversee their implementation.
‘The party will ensure that education is linked to skill development and the city provides enough employment opportunities to the youth,’ he added. He also blamed the Congress government for ignoring the interest of youths in last 14 years.
