Assault case: Two held for man’s death

A 21-year-old man, who was allegedly thrashed by a mob on Tuesday evening, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Outer Delhi on Saturday, police said. Two emn – Dharmendar and Javed – have been arrested.

DCP (Outer) Vikramjit Singh said, “Initially, three policemen who were deployed in the area reached the spot. After dispersing the mob, cops rushed the man to a nearby hospital, where his condition started deteriorating. He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday evening.”

On Sunday, AAP workers accused the Delhi Police of killing Amit and tweeted that he died in police custody. DCP rubbished all allegations and said, “An FIR was registered the same day the incident took place. Initially, the case was registered under the Sections of rioting and attempt to commit culpable homicide. But after the incident, murder Section has been included in the FIR.”
