Ashutosh lashes out at BJP govt over Una violence

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Ashutosh, on Wednesday lashed out at Narendra Modi government over the brutal assault on seven Dalit youth in his home state, Gujarat. The state has been witnessing widespread protests following the incident at Una, where seven Dalit youth were thrashed for allegedly skinning a dead cow.

Ashutosh said it was ‘inhuman’ of policemen to beat Dalits for three hours continuously. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should restrain themselves from torturing Dalits, which instigated many members of the community to end their lives. He held the BJP government in the state responsible for the protests  in Gujarat. He claimed that the widespread  protests, raging the state, could have been contained only if the BJP government in Gujarat wanted so. He reiterated AAP’s committment to support and protect Dalits.

“Earlier, it was seen how HCU scholar Rohith Vemula was forced by the Modi’s Cabinet colleagues to commit suicide. It shows their anti-Dalits approach,” he said. The AAP has demanded the arrest of the police officials involved in the gruesome incident.
