ASG Pinky Anand felicitated

Senior Supreme Court advocate Pinky Anand was felicitated by Delhi Study Group, on Sunday for being appointed as Additional Solicitor General (ASG) of India. Recently, she was also awarded with ‘Ordre-National-du Merite’ (National Order of Merit) by French President François Hollande.
Union Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptullah and Korea envoy Lee Joon-gyu were the chief guests on the occasion.
Anand is the second woman to hold the post of ASG in the 64-year history of the Supreme Court.
Senior advocate Indira Jaising was the first woman ASG. Anand has a masters degree in law from Harvard Law School. She held the post of additional advocate general of Uttarakhand. She was the in-charge of BJP’s national legal cell and also a member of the party’s national executive.
