Even as the Gaza toll continues to climb, a protest was held in the national capital right in front of the Israeli embassy. ‘The fight of Palestine is going since from years. In the name of security, people are being killed. Three boys were kidnapped. Civilians are being harassed. First their land is bombarded and now, they want to acquire the land. Many civilians are moving out from here. How will they survive there? We don’t expect much from BJP government but we do except that people who love peace should raise their voices against the same,’ said Ali Javed, professor at Delhi University.
More than 50 people, from different backgrounds gathered in front of Israel embassy to urge them to stop this warfare. ‘It’s a humanitarian cause. That is why I want all to support this movement. It is atrocity against humans. We didn’t have any talks with the government neither with the officials from the Israel embassy. Nobody came out to talk. But we are spreading word on social media to raise awareness about the issue,’ said Kauser, an engineer.
Talking about global responsibility, labour activist Shewta said, ‘It is an internationalist is. At such large scale, people are being killed. There has to be justice. One shouldn’t be constrained by their nationalities. It is lot of innocent lives which are paying the cost for political conflicts of people who enjoys power. Simultaneous protests are being held in Mumbai, Lucknow and Allahabad.’
