‘Arvind Kejriwal should come clean’

The BJP leader, who refused to form the government despite his party emerging as the single largest entity but falling short of majority, said Kejriwal must come clean on his ‘compulsions’ to take support of a party (the Congress), whom he had called corrupt. ‘He has been exposed now. He didn’t reply to any of my questions as he doesn’t have words,’ said Vardhan after the trust vote.

The BJP leader asked the CM to clarify his party’s stand on the statement given by his senior colleagues that they did not mind a referendum in J&K and that they would not mind if the state decided to secede and join Pakistan. Vardhan took the opportunity of also raising the funding of AAP and its related organisations.

He raised the issue of the donation of $36,900 by the Ford Foundation to an organisation headed by Delhi’s education minister Manish Sisodia, of which Kejriwal is also a member. He also wanted to know if AAP government was going to reopen the Batla House encounter case, during which Delhi Police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma died.

Criticising the chief minister for taking a metro ride to Ramlila ground, Vardhan asked what was so special about it. ‘My children stay in Dwarka and I regularly take the metro to visit them from my East Delhi home but never publicise it. There was nothing special about the chief minister using the metro to travel as thousands of security personnel had to be deployed for this.’ Criticising Kejriwal’s insistence on taking security, Vardhan said, ‘You (Kejriwal) don’t want security, but at least 4,000 policemen were deployed for your security at the Ramlila Maidan.’

He questioned the decision to ban red beacons for Delhi MLAs saying the SC order on this was a year old.  Vardhan also sought reply of Kejriwal on his ‘false’ claim that he was commissioner of income tax and also that crores were expended to create divide between him and Anna Hazare.
