Army's Desert Safari flagged off

A 3,500 km Desert Safari was on Sunday flagged off in Varanasi by the Mathura-based One Strike Corps of Indian Army to commemorate the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of 1965 Indo-Pak War. The General Officer Commanding of Red Eagle division, Major Gen PC Thimmaiya flagged off the Desert Safari. The One Strike Corps is conducting the 10-day gypsy rally on behalf of the 'Sapta Shakti' Command. The journey began from Varanasi on Sunday and will traverse through UP, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana before terminating in New Delhi on August 28.
