'Army equipped to deal with cross-border threats'

Claiming that there were threats from across the border, a top Army officer on Friday said the force was well-equipped and well-trained to deal with any kind of situation. "Threats (from across the border) are there as they always have been, but we are alert," said Major General Sanjeev Narain, GoC Tiger Division. He was replying to a question on the threat perception from across the border following the Pathankot attack and the Army's preparation.

"That is something which is annual feature... Fog and weather etc, but the Army is well equipped and well trained to deal with any kind of situation," Maj Gen Narain said. He said, "As usual we are keeping tight vigil and maintain it as being done always." He said that Army Day is observed every year on January 15 to pay tributes to soldiers.
