Armed men rob house of senior UP govt official

Six armed men robbed the house of a senior official of UP transport department by keeping the family hostage at gunpoint for several hours in a posh colony of Ghaziabad on Thursday.
Police said the robbers looted Rs 8 lakh cash, jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh and other articles. They also thrashed the official and his family and also threatened to take revenge if they reported the matter.
The robbers allegedly also took away licensed revolver of the victim.
