Are you game for a laugh?

Comedy lovers of the Capital have reason to cheer. After much dillly dallying, Spoofhmania — a film festival that spoofs some of popular topics and films — has just started in the city.

Organised by Filmbooth, the festival will have films that will be screened at multiple venues. 'We intend to build-up the festival by taking it to different venues, different audience and some very interesting screenings. We are thrilled to see some fantastic films, comedy acts, discussions and exchange to show the funnier and lighter side of life and hope our audience enjoys this experience as much as we did putting it together,' said Gaurav Raturi, co-founder, Filmbooth.

The festival, which has acquired a niche among the spoof-lover audience, provides a platform where all the artistes (actors, directors creative writers) gather together, share, interact and exchange ideas.

Other activities like a stand up gig at the finale, a spoof parliament presided by a cabinet of Ministers of Spoofs hailing from varied backgrounds such as filmmaking, advertising, cartooning, and spoof shows by viralfever.com, random TV and Longy TV are a part of the festival too.

Some of the other highlights of the Spoofhmania are showcasing of the Malegaon film industry (a film industry by mill workers near Mumbai who spoof popular movies) followed by interactions with Malegaon ka Amitabh and Gabbar.

Spoofhmania will screen more than 25 short films by various independent artists. 'All the films are spoofs, parodies and rip offs of known commercial cinema,' added Gaurav.
