Anupam Kher was booed during the screening of his film “Buddha in a Traffic Jam” on the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus on Friday. A group of 50-60 students started hooting and shouted slogans like “RSS go back and Anupam Kher go back”. After the intervention of JNU administration the situation was normalised. While the interaction with students, Kher said: “People who are out on bail cannot be welcomed on campus like heroes,” and added: “How can some students make a hero out of someone who criticises the country and is currently out on bail? Someone who has returned on bail is not an Olympic hero,” Kher said. “I want the focus to be shifted back from kranti (revolution) to desh bhakti (nationalism),” said Kher amid chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai from some of the students inside the JNU campus. Earlier, the All India Students Association (AISA) alleged the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad of disrupting a play held by Sangwari theatre group on the Delhi University’s law faculty campus.
