Ansal University hosts design forum

Ansal University hosted a three-day annual international conference, ‘Revolution by Design’ from 11 March. The conference was organised by Sushant School of Art and Architecture and Sushant School of Design.

The British High Commissioner to India, Sir James Bevan inaugurated the event on 11 March and Sir Christopher Frayling, ex-Rector of the Royal College of Art, London delivered keynote address.

The three-day conference was attended by world renowned architects and designers. A series of short lectures by industry experts from around the world, including lectures of Raj Rewal, S K Das, Aditya Dev Sood, Sunita Kohli, Ashish Ganju, was organised.

The lecture series is followed by a practical workshop on traditional and modern making. Karen Richmond, head of the BA 3D programme at Camberwell College of Art and Design conducted a trans disciplinary workshop.

‘It is a moment of immense pride for us to host a conference of this stature in our University’, said Raj Singh, vice chancellor, Ansal University. ‘Revolution by Design focussed on the role of design thinking and design pedagogy in bringing the changes,’ said Prof. Mike Kowles, dean, Sushant School of Design. Sushant School of Design and School of Art and Architecture are private colleges in Gurgaon sharing the campus with Ansal Institute of Technology.
