The Ansal group marked their entry into the education sector in 1989 with the establishment of Sushant School of Art and Architecture (SSAA). Later, Ansal Institute of Technology (AIT) was founded in 2000. Both the institutes are known for their collaborations with some of the top universities of USA and Canada like Clemson University, North Dakota State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, University of Canberra and Deakin University, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, the Ansal honcho, who has also been nominated by the governing body as the first Chancellor of the University said, 'Ansal University will provide advanced quality of education with a futuristic approach for students drawn from around the world and have the greatest bearing on the future of India and the world.'

Located in a sprawling campus in the heart of Gurgaon, the University has established eight schools of studies – Sushant School of Art and Architecture, School of Engineering and Technology, School of International Studies, School of Applied Science, Sushant School of Design, School of Management Studies, School of Computer Applications and School of Humanities and Languages. The institutions will provide education from graduation to doctoral levels.

'The University will offer multiple courses and specialisations to provide a stimulating teaching and learning environment, where teachers encourage young minds to explore the frontiers of research,' said Sushil Ansal. He also added that the University will adopt internationally accepted teaching-learning processes, including industry focused contemporary curriculum.

The University, according to Ansal, will provide a stimulating teaching and learning environment where the best teachers and researchers apply innovative pedagogical techniques and encourage young minds to explore the frontiers of research.

Commenting on corporate-social-responsibility, Sushil Ansal said, 'We aim at creating an environment that is competitive as well as cooperative. To develop centres of excellence that bring the cutting edge to all fields, benefiting society as a whole and especially the poor and underprivileged.'

The varsity has plans to invest over Rs 70-100 crore in the next five years for its infrastructural development.
