Another traffic cop thrashed by three goons

In yet another incident, a 26-year-old traffic police constable was thrashed by three men in west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area on Monday when the cop on duty was taking action on illegal e-rickshaws plying in the area. Two of the accused have been arrested while the remained person is absconding as yet.
The constable has been identified as Dala Ram who is a resident of Tilak Nagar in west Delhi. At the time of the incident, he was on duty near Uttam Nagar bus terminal. He along with Assistant Sub-Inspector—Rajpal and Constable Jatinder were on a checking spree of the illegal e-rickshaws plying in the area.
In the meantime, when constable Ram was standing alone near the bus terminal three men approached him and threatened him to not to interfere in their business of running e-rickshaws. The argument turned violent and resulted into a scuffle. The three men allegedly thrashed him and torn his uniform too, In the meantime, locals gathered and a PCR van patrolling in the nearby area too reached the spot. “Two of the accused were nabbed by the PCR staff while the third accused managed to flee. They have been identified as Sonu, Danish and Amit (on run),” a police official said.
All are the residents of JJ colony in Uttam Nagar and are plying e-rickshaws.
A case under the Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Uttam Nagar police station.
