Angry crowd beats up 3 Africans for misbehaving on Metro

Three foreigners faced the public wrath on Sunday evening at Rajeev Chowk Metro station when they were allegedly found misbehaving with the co-passengers, some of whom were women. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) had to intervene into the matter to rescue them from the angry crowd. The three accused Africans, identified as Gujra Fajzal (20), Mapago (22), Koumba (22), Â were coming from Huda City Centre. They were de-boarded at Rajeev Chowk and rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital after being badly beaten up by the crowd.Â
‘It was reported that they misbehaved with some co-passengers which instigated the matter. Later they were de-boarded from the train at platform number 2 and taken to metro control room by the metro guard. Then they were  taken to the Delhi Police Metro booth where the angry mob attacked them. In the meantime, CISF intervened and reacted quickly,’ said a CISF official on condition of anonymity.
‘After a while, CISF brought the accused to the manager’s room and they were sent to RML for medical attention. It was also reported that a police constable suffered some minor injury while he was trying to save the accused from public wrath,’ added the official.
Meanwhile the police have not denied the incident and gone on to add: ‘The matter is being investigated and the accused were sent to the hospital for medical examination.’Â
