Angry Ansari’s remark leaves RS fuming

Repeated disruptions in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday saw an agitated Chairman Hamid Ansari wondering whether members wish the House to become a federation of anarchists. ‘Every single rule in the rule book, every single etiquette, is being violated...If the Hon’ble members wish the House to become a federation of anarchists, then it is a different matter,’ said Ansari.
The chairman made the remark soon after the House met for the day when he took up the first listed question. The remark, however, drew sharp reaction with the BJP demanding its withdrawal and the government asking for expunging it. Leader of Opposition, RS, Arun Jaitley expressed displeasure over Ansari’s remark and demanded that the chair should withdraw it.
