Ammonia level rises again, water supply to be affected

Within a month’s time the level of ammonia has risen for a second time in Yamuna affecting water supply in several parts of the national Capital, because the production at Wazirabad and Chandrawal water treatment plants has been stopped. The same situation emerged on February 20.
“Owing to rise in the level of ammonia in the Yamuna, water supply will not be available to the residents during the morning of February 16,” said a DJB statement. The areas affected are the NDMC areas, North, North-west, Central Delhi and parts of West and South Delhi.
Some of the affected areas are Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, Civil Lines, Subhash Park, Mukherjee Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, Model Town, Jahangir Puri, Wazirpur Industrial area, Punjabi Bagh, Gulabi Bagh, Hindu Rao, Jhandewalan, Motia Khan, Pahar Ganj, Karol Bagh, Old Rajinder Nagar, Naya Bazar, East and West Patel Nagar, Malka Ganj and their adjoining areas.
