Amity University to offer course on built environment

Terming Indian society as the 'largest aspirational society on the planet', Union minister for Urban Development Kamal Nath while inaugurating India's first school of built environment, a partnership between Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Amity University, said the school will offer relevant and quality education to young professionals wanting to make their careers in the infrastructure sector.

The built environment sector, which essentially includes real estate, construction and infrastructure, faces a challenge of demand-supply mismatch and also the shortage of right kind of people with relevant skills. Addressing this problem of lack of talented manpower, Sachin Sandhir, Managing Director of RICS, said,'we are extremely glad to have set up the RICS School of Built Environmrnt, Amity University, that will bridge the skills gap in India'.
