‘Amendments to key green laws being reviewed’

Government is currently reviewing the inputs from states and stakeholders on proposed amendments to five Central Acts related to environment, Environment minister Prakash Javadekar said. On the bringing amendments to five key environment laws, enacted between 1971 and 1986, Javadekar said it is under review of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. "We are amending and reviewing Forest (Conservation) Act 1980, Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972, Environment (Protection) Act 1986, Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1981," he said.
