Alstom T&D powers 17% net rise

Alstom T&D, the transmission and distribution arm of French firm Alstom, on Tuesday reported a 17% jump in net profit at Rs 53.08 crore for the quarter ended 31 March, 2013.
Alstom T&D had posted a net profit of Rs 45.42 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, the company said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges.
The company’s total income during the January-March, 2013 quarter rose to Rs 1,096 crore from Rs 1,019 crore in the year-ago period.
Alstom T&D develops, constructs, markets and provides systems, components and customer support to the infrastructure markets in the fields of power generation.
