Allegations against special director ‘baseless’: CBI

CBI on Wednesday has alleged that there is a ‘concerted design to malign India’s premier investigating agency.’ Reacting to Millennium Post report, published on Wednesday, 1 October, ‘CBI special director under scanner in Moin Qureshi case’, the top probing agency, in a written rejoinder, denied the allegations, adding there was an attempt to ‘destroy the credibility of the CBI as an institution and tarnishing the reputation of its special director.’ Reiterating ‘commitment’ to its motto – ‘industry, impartiality and integrity’ – CBI said ‘such allegations are an attempt to cast personal aspersions on senior officers.’
