All leaves of DTC staff to be cancelled from January 1-15

The Delhi government has approached Google and Twitter to upload all information regarding public transport. Briefing the press after a review meeting with department officials, Transport minister Gopal Rai said: “We have approach Twitter and Google and they have accepted our proposal. We will provide data regarding routes of DTC buses, bus stops, frequency of buses, availability of  feeder buses all so that commuters can easily access.”

The government has decided to cancel leave of all DTC staff members for 15 days (from January 1 to 15). However, it will not be implemented on their weekly leave.

The minister informed that the deadline for registration of private busses has been extended form December 20 to 26. Bus owners can approach for registering their busses at all DTC bus depots in Delhi. Rai said that, the problem of school bus owners has been sorted out. “A-three members panel will examine damage of the buses and will compensate accordingly. They have given their consent for the same,” Rai said. Apart from these, as many as 4,000 new bus conductors will be recruited and they would be deployed in private hired busses for 15 days. The government has asked its party MLAs to examine their areas, last mile connectivity and number of required buses and frequency. They were asked to submit their report as soon as possible. “The colonies where government officials are residing, special buses will be provided to drop them at their offices in the morning and at evening the same bus will drop them at their homes,” Rai said.
