Actress Alia Bhatt, who plays a Tamilian girl in 2 States, is not just trying to pick the accent but is also learning the typical household culture of a Tamil home.
She is going out of her way to fit the bill as a Tamil Iyengar girl for the movie, based on Chetan Bagat’s novel 2 States: The Story of My Marriage. The story is about a Punjabi boy who falls in love with a Tamil girl, and the ensuing cultural clashes between them and their families.
A source close to Alia, the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, reveals: ‘She is learning the Tamil culture and tradition. She has also hired a special Tamilian teacher who will help her to adapt to the south Indian culture.’ Alia was also spotted in many south Indian localities to get a grip on her character.
In 2 States, she will feature opposite Arjun Kapoor. They even got together for a photoshoot.  Â
