Alert cops save girl from being kidnapped

Alert policemen saved a girl who allegedly was kidnapped while travelling with her brother with whom she had taken lift from a few men in North Delhi’s Burari area on Friday evening. According to the police, the incident took place at around 7 pm. The brother-sister duo was returning from Burari and heading  towards their  home in Wazirabad in North-east Delhi when they realised that there was no bus or autorickshaw in sight. While they were thinking how to reach home, a car with three men inside stopped and offered to drop them home.

“They decided to take the lift and boarded the car. However, they soon realised that the three men — later identified as Shiv Kumar, Saurabh Kumar Goswami and Sachin Kumar — had ulterior motives. First they snatched the mobile phones of the duo and then threw the boy  out of the car upon reaching Wazirabad,” said a senior police officer. The officer said that close to where the  boy was abandoned, a PCR van was stationed with ASI Mahender and HC Jagdish deployed. The boy narrated the incident to them and they chased the car as it headed towards the Shahadra flyover. The men even tried to hit the police vehicle to prevent it from chasing them but the duo never gave up on their pursuit. Somehow, the cops managed to corner the vehicle and one of the two cops got down and took the ignition key out. The duo then overpowered the trio and ensured that they were taken in police custody.
