Akhilesh to shower bounty on Ghaziabad, Noida

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is scheduled to visit Ghaziabad on 3 June, where he is expected to formally inaugurate around half-a-dozen infrastructural projects and distribute laptops to thousands of students. Yadav is also likely to announce some unique administrative changes for Ghaziabad and Noida.
The UP Chief Minister on Sunday is expected to lay the foundation stones of six new infrastructural projects in Ghaziabad. ‘Inauguration of infrastructural projects was postponed from February, because a new programme was included, and the chief minister is likely to be lay foundation stones for an elevated road over NH-24 and a link road connecting NH-24 with NH-58,’ said an official of Ghaziabad Development Authority(GDA).
According to senior GDA officials, the projects which now stand to be inaugurated next months include the new bridge over Hindon River, connecting Raj Nagar to Loni Road. This project has been jointly developed by GDA and UP irrigation department in order to ease vehicular congestion over the old Hindon bridge along NH-58.
The link road connecting sector Zeta in Greater Noida to Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad will be inaugurated the same day. GDA officials informed that development works, for which foundation stones would be laid, include a project for widening the Mohan Nagar road from four lanes to six lanes and the widening of the Hapur Road. Yadav is also expected to make a special announcement conferring the status of a tehsil to Loni, which at present is a corporation. At Gautam Budh Nagar, Yadav will distribute laptops to 5,598 students.
According to GDA officials, the estimated accumulated cost of all the projects is Rs 9,000 crore.
