AI Chief Nandan gets extension of three months

The government has given a three-month extension to Air India chief Rohit Nandan and asked
the competent authority to complete the selection process of the new incumbent in the meantime.
Nandan, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, was appointed as chairman and managing director (CMD) of the cash strapped air carrier for three years in August 2011. He has been given extension for a period of three months with effect from Tuesday with the direction that the process of selection of a new CMD may be completed in the meantime, said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
