After enrolment, BJP starts mass contact drive

After completing the membership drive, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched a mass contact programme, under which the party workers have been tasked to make house-to-house visits to touch base with new members and apprise them about its ideology.

The three-month programme got off with BJP chief Amit Shah meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had become the first member under the new membership drive launched on November 1 last year.At the end of membership drive yesterday, Shah had claimed that the party had made around 10.5 crore members.

Meanwhile, Shah will embark on a day-long visit to Uttarakhand on May 3 to address a state party meet. The party president will address a party meet in Dehradun, in which party MPs, MLAs, working committee members and other party members will take part.
