A day after Kerala Congress came down heavily on former union minister and party MP Shashi Tharoor for praising PM Narendra Modi, its mouthpiece piece Veeksham, published from Thiruvananthapuram, criticised the leader for lacking in loyalty to the organisation. Tharoor on the other hand tried to make amends saying there was need to cleanse the country of bigotry.
According to agency reports, a stinging editorial in the Congress daily Veeksham, without naming the target, said loyalty of those who pen ‘love letters’ to Modi through social media and write adulatory articles in edit pages will be suspected. Meanwhile, Tharoor on Tuesday tweeted, ‘I urge @PMOIndia to also work for an India cleansed of bigotry, hatred, intolerance and divisiveness, an India that is truly clean.’
