While the first day of the admissions under the first cut-off announced last week was marred with technical glitches, the second phase started off well on Tuesday.
There has been a marginal drop in the percentages in the second list even as some colleges closed the enrollment to popular courses such as B Com and Economics Honours.
Also the DU’s South Campus colleges seem to be giving a tough competition to colleges in the North Campus as general category students have already filled up seats for most of the South Campus colleges in the first cut-off list itself.
The students have to check the cut-offs online and if they meet the eligibility they can log into the university’s admission portal and choose the college and course.
The applicants have three days to take admission under the second list following which the next cut-off list will be released.
They will have to take a printout of the completed form, along with the listed documents and their self-attested copies and visit the designated college on any of the three days of admission.
The university had received 2.5 lakh applications for 60,000 seats in 63 colleges. In a major shift from what used to happen in the previous years, no DU college has kept the ceiling at 100 per cent in the first cut-off list announced last week. However, the required percentage soared in almost all the colleges.
This is for the first time that the university has introduced full-fledged online admission procedure for UG admissions unlike previous years when it used to be both online and offline.
DU had announced this year that it will only release five cut-off lists unlike previous years when the varsity issued up to ten such lists.
