Addressing womanhood

A solo show of art works by Sunayana Malhotra, titled ‘Aham’ had been inaugurated recently at Indian Habitat Centre in the national Capital and will be on till July 7 from 11 am to 7 pm every day.

Sunayana, a bold and dynamic lady presented her artistic skills and views through her paintings in the visual art gallery, where each painting had a different story to tell. The overall concept behind the show was women empowerment and the status of woman in the Indian society.

Each of the bold paintings had a story to tell regarding the women of our society and the power and talent they posses.

One of her paintings, ‘Shafaq’ talks about sympathy and affection, while another called ‘Rhapsody’, speaks of a woman’s enthusiasm.

All the titles depict the power and courage a woman portrays towards the society. The thoughtful paintings expressed every emotion possessed by a woman. Sunayna is fascinated by lotuses, and that is well reflected in her works.

The cause of women empowerment gets more relevance when addressed by a woman herself. “My work is based on women empowerment and the traditions women follow,” said the artist.
