ACB officials arrest traffic constable, accomplice for taking bribe

The Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi government arrested a traffic constable and a middleman for accepting bribe on Monday.
According to ACB officers, the constable Vichitra Kumar posted in Delhi Traffic Police and the middleman, identified as Digvijay Singh, were caught red handed for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 600.
The Additional Commissioner of Police of ACB V Renganathan informed that the arrest was
made on receipt of a complaint that the said constable was demanding a bribe of Rs 600 on
account of allowing the complainant to ply his vehicles without proper documents.
A trap was laid and the alleged constable along with his accomplice Digvijay Singh (a tea stall owner) in West Karawal Nagar, Delhi, walked into it.
The tea stall owner Singh had received money on direction of the constable from the complainant in Usmanpur area of East Delhi.
A FIR has been filed and matter is being investigated.
