Abandoned shin guard causes stir in Secretariat

Several police officials were on their toes after a pair of shin guard was found abandoned near Delhi Secretariat on Saturday night.
According to the police, on Saturday night at around 9.30 pm, patrolling cops spotted something suspicious lying on the divider of the stretch close to the Delhi Secretariat and flashed a message through PCR van.
Immediately, bomb squad team was called off at the spot to assure the object which soon confirmed there was nothing to panic about.
‘It was a pair of shin guard which normally used by sports persons or physiotherapists. Further investigations are underway but there is nothing to fear about,’ said Additional Commissioner of Police (central), Devesh Chand Srivastava.
Following the arrest of the suspect militant of Hizb-ul-Mujahidin (HuM), Sayyed Liyaqat Shah on 20 March, Delhi police have on place round-the-clock vigil. Also, with Holi round the corner, the security has been intensified.
