Abandoned male infant found in Noida

A one-week old infant was discovered from on the roadside in Sector 57 in Noida on Tuesday morning. A medical examination has shown that the left leg of the male infant is paralysed, which could be the reason why he was abandoned by his parents, said police.

'The infant was either abandoned because of the paralysis in his left leg, or he is an illegitimate child,' said a senior officer at sector 58 police station. A passer-by spotted the infant lying on the side of the road near an LPG gas storehouse in Sector 57. The police got the infant admitted in the district government hospital in Noida for primary check up and handed him over to an NGO. 'We are inspecting the records of new born babies in the city to trace his parents,'said the officer.

This is the second such incident in the area in a matter of days. On Monday, a seven-months old stillborn baby boy was discovered from a ladies toilet in the Sector 58 area. 'We have registered complaints against anonymous persons in both cases and investigations are on,' said the officer.
