Abandoned infant girl found

A new-born girl was found abandoned by police from near a park in Sagarpur area on Thursday morning. The condition of the child is said to be stable, while police has registered the case and launched a hunt to search for the family of the baby. A call on PCR was received around 10 am when a passerby noticed the baby crying near a sewer of Vashist Park, located in Sagarpur.

Police reached the spot and admitted the child to Deen Dayal Hospital in Mayapuri.

The two-day-old infant was covered in a piece of cloth and her body was swollen due to mosquito bites. According to hospital's medical superintendent, Promila Gupta, the baby has been admitted to the nursery unit and under inspection of at least a doctor and a nurse.
