AAP’s Anand Kumar and BJP’s Mahesh Giri file nomination papers

There were hardly 15-20 people with Anand Kumar, while he was on his way to file the nomination. Among the few were his party supporters and others were his family members and friends. The AAP leader in his affidavit disclosed that he has only Rs 30,000 cash in hand, while his wife has only Rs 15,000. Professor Anand his wife declared property worth approximately Rs 23 lakh property in cash which include jewellery, fix deposit and saving in banks etc. He also has one resident flat in Gurgaon and ancestral house in Varanasi, worth Rs 2.70 crore. It took around 30 minutes to complete the nomination process.

Meanwhile BJP candidate from east Delhi Lok Sabha seat, Mahesh Giri also filed his nomination in returning officer (DC office) in Geeta colony. The BJP leader in his affidavit disclosed that he has Rs 45,860 cash in hand and total cash, in the form of jewellery and saving, approximately worth Rs 52 lakh.

‘So far 15 nominations have been received from five constituencies out of seven. Two nominations each have been received from the East Delhi and New Delhi constituencies and one each from North East and South Delhi constituencies,’ said an election official. The parliamentary constituencies are Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi and North West Delhi.
