An Aam Aadmi Party’s Youth Wing leader’s car was set on fire in the Pooth Khurd area on Tuesday. According to the police, a case has been registered against unidentified miscreants at the Shahbad Dairy police station.
The incident took place at around 5.30 am when AAP Youth Wing leader Aman Kumar had parked his Range Rover car, worth Rs 66 lakh, outside a factory in Outer Delhi’s Pooth Khurd industrial area.
Employees of a nearby factory saw the car being set on fire and informed the police while the fire department was also called in to douse the flames. The police said as per the statements of the factory labourers, three to four unidentified men came and first broke the car’s window and then set it ablaze, after which they fled from the crime scene.
Kumar has been in politics for the past two years and has actively participated in exposing corruption in Food Corporation of India and Public Distribution System. He also regularly takes part in all the protests and demonstrations related to social issues.
