AAP waives off late payment surcharge on water bills

After announcing free water for up to 20,000 litres per month, the AAP government on Thursday, decided to give relief to thousands of Delhi Jal Board consumers by waiving off accumulated late payment surcharges. Now, consumers will just have to pay the actual arrears as reflected in the current bill. DJB has decided to waive off 100 per cent on late payment of water bills with respect to domestic consumers (category-I), subject to full and final payment of outstanding water bills within March 31,2015. On each outstanding bill, five per cent late payment surcharge fee would be levied to every billing cycle.
