AAP to organise flash mobs across city ahead of polls

Aam Aadmi Party, known for its unique style of poll campaigning will organise series of flash mobs across the Capital ahead of assembly elections. While the location has not been identified yet, it is believed the first flash mob will take place around Christmas.

“The concept is often used by the corporate to promote their products. Several social groups and NGOs also use flash mobs to raise awareness about issues. However we are going to use it for the first time in politics,” said Vikas, an AAP volunteer.

The flash mob, with duration of five to seven minutes, will involve 30-50 volunteers who will perform on patriotic songs. At the end of their act, the volunteers will raise slogans like Paanch Saal Kejriwal, Vikas added.  “We have identified several locations, such as malls, shopping complex, markets, and other public places. We will start our flash mobs from Christmas onwards,” he added.

He further added all the volunteers in the flash mob group are students from various colleges in Delhi and NCR.

“When asked what attract them into politics, most of them replied it was Kejriwal”, he said.
Meanwhile, the party has expressed it need more volunteers to help them during the upcoming assembly polls in Delhi. “We need people from various fields. We need professionals for internet-based social media campaign, social media marketing and research work”, said an AAP spokesperson.
