AAP takes credit for highlighting plight of victim

Taking credit for highlighting the trauma of the five-year-old rape victim and her transfer to a better hospital, Aam Aadmi Party on Monday demanded resignation of home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and Delhi police commissioner Neeraj Kumar. The AAP demand came after Delhi police chief ruled out any chance of his resignation over the issue in a press conference.
Criticising the Delhi police, Delhi government and the central government on the lack of security and safety for women in the national capital, AAP also announced the launch of Mahila Suraksha Dal (MSD) at each college and in every assembly constituency of the national capital, where the assembly elections are due to be held at the end of this year. Arvind Kejriwal, AAP convenor, said that women in the city cannot trust the police force anymore and his party was taking its own initiave for the safety of women.
