Soon after the Clean India Campaign was launched on 2 October, the party had started a WhatsApp helpline asking people to send them photographs of garbage lying across the city.
According to the party statement, so far over 10,000 photographs have been received on the helpline.
The party has also uploaded these photographs on its website. AAP has been stating consistently that the leader of BJP are not serious about Clean India Campaign. ‘It is mere symbolism on their part. They are not serious about cleanliness in the city’, the party’s statement said.
It further added ‘The party is of the view that this campaign requires a serious effort to make it into a mass movement. But the government is still reluctant to address the issues of sanitation workers, who are the real ambassadors of cleanliness campaign.’
