He alleged that the silence of administration over the loss of the file exposes the shameless attempts to cover-up a mega scam. ‘It is shocking that even the union home ministry is treating it as a rountine matter and appears to be showing no seriousness in pulling up the Delhi administration to ensure that the file is produced before the concerned authorities,’ said AAP in a press statement.
The party also took on central government for its ‘casual attitude’ in dealing with the matter. ‘The loot in the name of CWG 2010 is not hidden from anyone, but the casual attitude of the central government in dealing with this mega scam, betrays its much hyped commitment to fight corruption’, the statement added.
‘There are no answers even after four years as to why the funds meant for the welfare of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes were diverted towards the CWG and why has the central government has so far not booked the ministers and officers responsible for this scam,’ AAP asked in the statement.
Arvind Kejriwal, in a post on a social networking site also hinted towards a ‘deal’ between former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit. ‘Rs 650 crores CWG misappropriation file goes missing from Delhi govt & Sheila Dikshit says nothing wrong in BJP trying to form govt by cobbling numbers. Perfect deal?’, posted Kejriwal.
The party also said that it will expose the nexus between Congress and BJP. ‘AAP will take this issue to the people and tell them how funds meant for poor people were diverted by the Sheila Dikshit government and how the BJP government is now helping the Congress by allowing the evidence to be destroyed,’ said a party spokesperson.
It has been alleged that funds of around Rs 724.5 crore were transferred by the Sheila Dikshit-led Congress regime from the SC/ST fund to finance certain CWG projects. The union home ministry has asked Delhi government to provide details of alleged diversion.
