AAP outlines agenda for health and education sectors

The party has also promised to open 900 new primary health centres (PHCs), health cards for all, free ambulance across Delhi, even to private hospital patients, free mortuary service and more pharmacy shops to dispense generic drugs. In the education sector, apart from opening up new schools, the party has promised to give more autonomy to schools, spend 20 per cent of the state budget on education as opposed to 15 per cent currently, and fill 17,000 vacancies of teachers. The party will also provide free medicines to senior citizen. Addressing a news conference, AAP leader Ashish Khetan said the party will undertake the Delhi Dialogue on health and education in 16 assembly constituencies from January 10.
Senior party leaders including Atishi Marlena Anand Kumar, Yogendra Yadav, Ashish Khetan, Ajit Jha and Satyendra Jain will hold meetings in 16 assembly constituencies of Greater Kailash, Malviya Nagar, Rithala, Shalimar Bagh, Model Town, Hari Nagar,Tilak Nagar, Janakpuri, Matiala,Rajinder Nagar, Jungpura, Krishna Nagar, Kondli, Uttam Nagar, Kasturba Nagar and RK Puram.
“We will hold meetings at the RWAs and take their feedback on the issues related to health and education. Besides these meetings, all 70 Vidhan Sabha candidates will host a Dialogue in their respective constituencies on RWA issues, health and education,” Khetan said. A party leader said 16 constituencies have been strategically chosen as AAP wants to focus on middle class and these seats have the highest concentration of the middle class. The initiative is also to woo this section of the society, which voted for the party in last assembly election, but moved away in the Lok Sabha polls.
