A 32-year-old AAP office bearer was found murdered under mysterious circumstances near his house in the Begum Vihar area near Rohini Sector 24 of Outer Delhi on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Dhirendra. Police suspect it to be a case of hate crime.
According to the police, his head was found severed from his body and his genitals were also chopped off using a sharp object. His body was found lying among bushes at around 7.30 am on Monday near his house after which police teams rushed to the spot. They found that Dhirendra had several injury marks all over his body. They took the body to a nearby hospital where the post-mortem was conducted.
President of the Aam Aadmi Party’s Purvanchal Wing district said he worked as a masseur in a parlour.
“He recently shifted to the newly-built residential colony in the Begumpur area. We have started investigating and are questioning everyone. Probe is still on,” said Vikramjeet Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer). Police alleged that he was last seen with a party worker identified as Kishan. Dhirendra reportedly did not return on Sunday night and the next day, his body was found in an agricultural land, a few metres away from his house.
A case of murder has been registered at the Begumpur police station under Section 302 of the IPC against unknown persons.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted his condolences in the morning and also visited Dhirendra’s family on Monday afternoon.
