According to police, Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) MLA Rajesh Garg from Rohini constituency along with the Delhi State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (DSIIDC) officials were reportedly held captive by locals here in Raja Vihar, Badli Industrial Area on Wednesday.
The locals were demanding the demolition of a wall erected on a plot, which was earlier used as a passage. Meanwhile the AAP MLA rejected claims of captivity and told Millennium Post over the phone that he was just surrounded by angry locals.
‘DSIDC had allotted a plot to someone in Badli Industrial area, following which it was surrounded by walls which blocked locals from using the plot as a passage. When I discussed the matter with locals, who surrounded me, I realised that they are suffering a lot due to this construction. I have decided to fight for their demands,’ said Garg.
Meanwhile police said that they received a call around 2.40 pm and soon after police teams were sent to the spot to control the situation.
