The sister-in-law of Aam Aadmi Party’s legislator from Mongolpuri constituency, Rakhi Bidlan, complained to the police that she was being subjected to domestic violence, but later withdrew, claiming to have settled the issue within the family, said a police official on Monday.
The victim, identified as Priyanka, reached outer Delhi’s Rohini (South) police station on the night of April 19, where she gave a complaint accusing Rakhi’s brother Vikram Bidlan of assaulting her and beating her with a belt. However, by Monday afternoon she reached upon a compromise with her husband and decided to withdraw the complaint, said the official.
Police did not file an FIR in this connection following this. “After she filed a complaint, a woman Sub-Inspector and a constable accompanied her to her residence and counselled her family. We have been told that the woman is withdrawing her complaint,” said a senior police official.
