AAP legislator had written to Chief Justice of Delhi HC

On the day when AAP carried out a sting, which purportedly showed state BJP vice-president offering bribe to party MLA to switch side, the legislator had shot a letter to the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court saying if the saffron party offered him bribe, he will accept it to ‘expose their dirty tricks.’

The letter written by AAP legislator Dinesh Mohaniya on 7 September also said if he accepted bribe from Sher Singh Dagar then he should not be considered as crimimal as he was doing so to the blow whistle on ‘dirty tricks’ of the BJP. Party sources said the letter was written to be on the safer side and also keep the judiciary in loop.

‘BJP, through its touts, leaders and agents is trying to approach various MLAs of AAP with offers of money. BJP wants AAP MLA to defect and support them on the floor of the house.

‘If they approach me, I will accept cash, and expose their dirty tricks as soon as possible, thereafter. If I do so, I should not be treated as an accused or criminal under the law because my intention is not to accept bribe but blow whistle on dirty and illegal activities,’ party MLA Dinesh Mohaniya said in his letter to the Delhi Chief Justice.

A delegation of AAP, led by party chief Arvind Kejriwal, also met Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi and demanded arrest of Dagar for purportedly offering bribe to AAP MLA in a ‘sting’. In a letter written to Bassi, Mohaniya, an AAP legislator from Sangam Vihar, who was allegedly offered bribe of Rs 4 crore by Dagar, had demanded an FIR to be registered in the case and conduct a thorough investigation in the matter.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal on Thursday wrote a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee and submitted a copy of the video  CD and the transcript of the sting operation. The CD and transcript was delivered at Rashtrapati Bhawan along with party convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s letter, in which the President has been apprised of the attempts going on to form a government in Delhi through all possible illegal means. ‘In our last two meetings, we had apprised you of how BJP is trying to indulge in horse-trading to form government in Delhi. Now, concrete evidence has come to light by way of a sting operation carried out by one of our MLAs, Dinesh Mohaniya,’ Kejriwal wrote in his letter.
