AAP leaders visit DU to check PM’s degree, V-C tells them to come back today

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday challenged the Delhi University authorities to allow the inspection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s academic details in the University record. “Why are DU authorities afraid of complying to the directions of the Central Information Commission? What are they trying to hide? The weak defence put forth by the university Registrar shrouded in secrecy, further strengthens the fact that DU is under pressure of the Central government to authenticate a forged degree and marksheets,” said AAP in a press statement.

AAP leader Ashutosh and several other AAP leaders, had filed an RTI application seeking inspection of 14 records including the enrolment register, the degree register, the convocation register etc. 

“It’s beyond comprehension why the Delhi University is not complying with the CIC order and 

allowing inspection of these documents,” read the statement. 

“Modi’s BA marksheet is attached with this press release along with two other marksheets issued around the same time. A look at the three documents shows that only Modi’s marksheet has marks typed on it, whereas the other two marksheets have marks handwritten. Not just that, both the other marksheets have signatures of both, the person who prepared the marksheets and the person who checked them. 

But Modi’s marksheet does not have signatures of the person who prepared the marksheet. It only has signatures of the person who checked the marksheet. It clearly shows that. Modi’s marksheet released by the BJP is a forged document,” the statement added. 

What further adds to the mystery is that the DU authorities refused to meet the AAP delegation, which had gone to inspect the records and later, surprisingly, leaked fictitious information under pressure from the Central government in a desperate bid to authenticate forged documents and roll numbers.
